About p1ngx

Building infrastructure that respects developers

p1ngx is run by Devin Oldenburg — an independent designer-engineer blending hardware and software into one transparent networking platform.

Founder

Hi, I'm Devin.

I've shipped creative software, developer platforms, and indie products for over a decade. p1ngx is the result of dismantling dozens of opaque networking boxes to make them understandable again.

Vision

  • Transparency over hype — publish docs before marketing campaigns
  • Developer-first surfaces — CLI and API are treated as primary clients
  • Honest materials — hardware should be serviceable and quiet
  • No dark patterns — pricing, telemetry, and terms stay clear

Long form story

Read the full journey

The first prototype was a frankenstein: salvaged ports, mismatched firmware, and a CLI duct taped on top. It proved one thing — developers want visibility. So I tore it down, wrote the philosophy doc, and designed new enclosures with serviceability in mind.

Today the lab is running CNC tests, bringing firmware online, and documenting every step so future customers can audit the work. This isn't a marketing exercise. It's infrastructure you can trust.
